Adam Whinston (SGS) is an innovative Social & Environmental Sustainability professional, driving change in global manufacturing through the implementation of creative solutions for challenging operational environments. He has led social and environmental responsibility programs at JCPenney and Hewlett-Packard and is currently Director of Supply Chain Assessments & Solutions at SGS North America. In that role Mr. Whinston develops services to help clients monitor, evaluate & improve conditions in global facilities to comply with regulatory requirements such as Trafficking-in-Persons FAR 52.222-50, UK Modern Slavery Act, California Transparency in Supply Chain Act (CATISCA) and Conflict Minerals legislation, not to mention global labor compliance standards. These customers include large retailers of apparel, footwear, furniture, electronics and toys as well as US government contractors, universities and other commercial enterprises. Mr. Whinston is a graduate of University of California, San Diego’s Graduate School of Global Policy and Strategy and speaks French, Spanish and Mandarin.
